Introduction:

This video aims to introduce you to the 5 key principles of the Mental Capacity Act. This training aims to use scenarios to aid staff to bring theory to practice. After watching the introduction please see the 4 scenarios and try and answer the questions using what you have learn about the mental capacity act.

What is the mental capacity act?

Mental capacity is the ability a person has to make their own decisions. Decisions are made on a daily basis. Most people have the capacity to make these decisions themselves, although sometimes additional information, support or advice is needed in order to have all the information available to make an informed decision.
